FAQ

Is Enhanced Remaster a sequel or remake?
No. tri-Ace treats it as an expanded remaster of the same 2010 Gunplay Symphony RPG. No new story chapter pack was announced with the October 29, 2026 launch.
Does the 4K/HD Edition story or battle system change?
Public store copy describes expanded graphics options and a 2× speed feature, not new missions or mechanics. Hero Actions, scratch damage, and weapon customization work the same way.
Can I play Enhanced Remaster without owning the 4K/HD Edition on Steam?
Not on PC. Steam lists Enhanced Remaster as DLC that requires the 4K/HD Edition base game (app 645730). New PC players buy the base game, then the upgrade (app 4996080).
What graphics options exist only in Enhanced Remaster?
Footage of the Enhanced build shows HDR and a Decimation filter toggle in Options → Graphics, plus FXAA3/SMAA anti-aliasing choices. The older 4K/HD menu in comparison footage lacks those rows.
Is there a physical Enhanced Remaster disc?
Launch coverage described a digital-only release on PS5 and Steam as of late October 2026. We did not find an official physical SKU announcement.
Should 4K/HD owners upgrade?
If you want HDR, sharper fine detail, optional 120fps, and 2× speed, the paid upgrade is the intended path. If you only care about finishing the story once, the 2018 edition still plays the same campaign.

What stayed the same between versions?

Resonance of Fate / End of Eternity is still the same single-player RPG: Vashyron, Zephyr, and Leanne, the bezel world map, tri-attack hero actions, and scratch-versus-direct gunplay. Enhanced Remaster marketing on Steam emphasizes graphics options and 2× game speed, not new quests. For mechanics, see /guides/battle-system-explained/ and /guides/hero-action-guide/.

How can you tell which build you are running?

Enhanced Remaster shows ENHANCED REMASTER under the logo on the title screen, with New Game / Load / Options entries on the right.

The pre-upgrade 4K/HD Edition graphics tab uses simpler Anti-Aliasing labels (On / Off in PC footage below), plus Shadow Buffer, Camera Blur, Depth of Field, Texture Resolution, and Screen Resolution—with no HDR or Decimation filter rows.

After the upgrade, open OPTIONS → Graphics (use L1/R1 or the tab switcher shown on screen). You should see Decimation filter and HDR alongside shadow buffer, anti-aliasing, and texture resolution.

Who should upgrade—and who can skip?

Upgrade if you replay the game, grind optional missions, or care about HDR/120fps on modern hardware. The $9.99 upgrade path is aimed at existing owners.

Skip for now if you never finished the story and already own the 4K/HD Edition on a modest PC—play the campaign first, then decide using /guides/is-enhanced-remaster-worth-it/.
